The following points should be noted:-
1. Only Irish traditional music will be accepted.
2. Competitors who have entered for any solo instrumental competition are not eligible to compete in the miscellaneous event unless they play a different instrument.
3. Solo competitors are only eligible to compete in their own age group. In duets, trios, groups and Ceili Bands, a competitor may play in a higher age group.
4. In the Primary and Post Primary Section in both solo and groups - pupils who receive tuition outside of school are ineligible.
5. Competitors for solos, duets and trios in the age groups play one tune from the classes listed above.
6. In competitions for duets, trios and Ceili Bands every member must at all times play the melody of the tune.
7. In the Group Competition whistlers and lilters may be included as well as players of bodhrans and bones, but drums are not permitted.
8. In Tin Whistle Group Competitions only unison playing will be permitted.
9. For all events where an age limit is specified a competitor is eligible if within these age limits on 1st January 2013.
